Our lighting focus for this unique exhibition involved a collaborative effort with the artist and curator to illuminate the reality at the border, offering a poignant commentary on the political situation. Emphasizing strong visual contrasts was integral to the storytelling, guiding visitors through the gallery using light and shadow. We strategically created sharp zones of light for focal points and soft, inviting zones for contemplation. Leveraging existing fixtures, we modified lenses and accessories to achieve desired effects. The lighting design not only enhanced the artistic narrative but also served as an introduction to the nuanced art of lighting in collaboration with a gallery. This project demonstrated how lighting can be a powerful medium for storytelling and emotional impact in the realm of art and political commentary.
